This is a four-storey building with basement erected in the years 1940-1942 on the premises of Rheinmetall-Borsig plant which was used as production plant of weapons and munitions. After the war, it served as the headquarters for various plants, including HYDRAL industrial plant. The building is listed as a monument and is the main production building of the entire complex. The whole structure consists of office buildings, warehouses, technical facilities, canteen, gatehouse and the necessary technical infrastructure. Our design included the reconstruction of B wing and F and G connectors. The comb-shaped building is composed of the main body oriented to the east and west and five wings adjacent thereto (three from the north and two from the south). The number of storey increased to five where south wings are connected to the main body of the building.
This is a building of skeleton construction. It is 19.40m high in the main body, while the dominant architectural structure is 23.30m high. A system of reinforced concrete beams and binding joists provides the main load-bearing structure of the building.
